The Myrtle Beach Film Institute 2019/2020 Season

The Myrtle Beach Film Institute 2.0 will meet one day a week for 4 weeks.

This 4 day in depth course of "What it takes to make a movie" will take you from script to screen. You will walk away with a new understanding of the Motion Picture Industry and Movies. Because in the end, you will be a part of making one.

 

Here is what we will cover:

 

Elements of a script, story line, plot, writing for budget, writing for time.

 

Acting, directing, taking direction, character development, blocking and scheduling management. Budgeting of a film.

 

Camera set up, native ISO, Kelvin balance, Aperture, depth of field, proper Camera Codec's. Rules of filming, rule of thirds, 180 degree rule. Single camera shoot vs multi camera shoots.

Color, focus control, framing, composition.

Videographer vs Cinematographer, what are the differences.

 

Lighting; one, two, three, and ex. multiple point of lighting. Balancing and multiple Kelvin temperatures on set. Use of scrims, flags, blocks, diffusion and gels.

 

Sound, field mixing, boom operations, proper microphones for locations and camera syncing.

Score, tracks and synchronization.

 

Working in the Motion Picture Industry. Contracts, Copyright infringements, Entertainment Litigation.

How to steer clear of trouble.

 

The class will develop a short film, film will be produced in early 2020.
